Winter Wonders

The Winter Wonders Program of Paoli Presbyterian Church is a local outreach mission program that serves over 300 children from neighboring school districts, Presbyterian Children's Village, and Home of the Sparrow.

On Friday, December 11, 2008, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, PPC will host our neighbors and friends for a wonderful evening full of laughter, giving and sharing.  Members of our church family and some guests will share their musical gifts in the sanctuary, while many others will provide individual attention and help to our invited guests.  Our PPC youth will inspire us all as they provide information and physical manpower to pack cars with gifts to go.  Our new friends -- children and adults alike -- will delight in “shopping” for loved ones in the Kids’ Gift Shop and the Toy Stop with the aid of personal PPC shoppers.  Finally, all of us will enjoy a delicious and bountiful holiday meal lovingly prepared by a PPC crew of many.

How Can You Help?

   You Can Contribute To The Program
      There are over 500 gifts to purchase, and jeans and coats to provide.  To contribute to the program, please read on...

 

 

 

 

  • Click the RED BUTTON below to peruse our online gift registry and choose one or more of the requested gifts to purchase.  Of course, there will still be some tickets available on the Tree of Wonders in the Narthex -- so either way you can add Winter Wonders items to your Christmas shopping list.

  • Make a monetary donation to the Winter Wonders program at any time.  Please make checks payable to Paoli Presbyterian Church and designate them for the Winter Wonders program.  Your cash donations will be used to fill gift requests that go unclaimed, or to purchase, jeans, coats, gift wrap, and food and wares for the holiday feast.

  • Purchase one or more pairs of jeans or a new coat from the list of compiled needs.  These lists will be available in early November.

  • Donate new toys or "teenage items" for the Toy Stop.  The collection of these items will begin in mid-November.

  • Donate new or gently used items for adults to stock the Kids' Gift Shop, where kids can shop for their parents.  The collection of these items will begin in mid-November as well.

  You Can Volunteer Your Time
      There are so many, many ways that you and your family can be involved in the PPC Winter Wonders program. 
       Let us know how you would like to help by clicking the GREEN BUTTON below for our online volunteer registration.

  • Lend a hand in the preparation for the program.  We need help with attending to the Winter Wonders display on Sunday mornings, checking in gifts as they arrive, sorting  gifts, creating family “packages” for delivery, helping to set up the Kids’ Gift Shop and/or the Toy Stop, preparing food or setting up Forrester Hall for dinner.

  • Perform a musical number at the Musical Offering on December 11th.  Contact Jonathan Kreamer at  jkkreamer@paolipres.org to share your talents.

  • Be a Shepherd – host a family (or two) for the duration of their stay with us on December 11th.  Help our new friends navigate our hallowed halls and enjoy dinner together.

  • Work in our Registration and Welcome center to make our  guests feel welcome from the moment they arrive at PPC.

  • Be a personal shopper in the Kids’ Gift Shop (where children pick items for their loved ones) or the Toy Stop.

  • Volunteer to work in Forrester Hall cooking, serving food, or bussing tables.

 

Time and Gift Selection

Thank you for selecting your Winter Wonders gifts online.  Here is how you can choose the gifts you will donate:

1.  Click the appropriate button below: GREEN to volunteer your time, or RED to purchase gifts.

2.  Enter the password indicated in lower case letters.

3.  Select the gift(s) you would like to donate and then click "Click to Proceed".

4.  Enter your name and e-mail address where indicated.  PLEASE DO NOT CHECK "ANONYMOUS" as that will prevent PPC from knowing who you are so we can send a tax receipt!

5.  In the box labeled "Message", please enter your mailing address and telephone number. (You can put a message for us there too!)

6.  Click "Finish" to register your selections.

7.  If you would like to choose gifts from a different category, use your browser's "Back" button to return here.

8.  Please bring purchased gifts to the church by November 29th and remember to put the Gift Code ("brand") on the package.
