VISION & MISSION

The 505 is a community at Paoli Presbyterian Church made up of all generations reaching out to the next generation through experiential worship, authentic community, and missional living. Together, we seek to love God, love others, and follow Jesus.

WHERE WE COME FROM

Back in April 2013, a group of young adults at Paoli Presbyterian Church came together with the shared desire to reach out to a generation that has mostly been missing from the church at large for the last several years. Believing that Jesus desires that all people would come to know His love, we wanted to create a community where people who might be far from Him right now could come to know Him in life-changing ways. The first 5:05pm service took place on April 28, 2013 and we could tell that God was up to something awesome. This new "505" community has been meeting weekly since January 12, 2014 and have been growing ever since!

WANT TO SERVE AT THE 505?

THERE ARE SO MANY EASY WAYS TO SERVE AND GET CONNECTED IN THIS COMMUNITY.

CHECK OUT THE FOLLOWING TEAMS AND EMAIL A LEADER TO GET STARTED.

Welcome Team

If making people feel welcome is your passion, this a great way to get involved! Volunteer to greet people at the door, hand out bulletins, help get people seated and just be a friendly presence at the 505.

Hospitality Team

We all love to eat good food. If you’re one of those awesome people who loves to prepare and share good food, then this is the team for you!

Prayer Team

Everything we do at The 505 is so people experience God. As such, we have folks who have committed to praying for everything we do. They pray before each 5:05pm service and they stay available during the service to pray with and for any person who wants it.

Worship Team

Every Sunday night, a team of gifted vocalists and musicians lead the 505 in worship. If you are interested in serving in our worship band, we would love to meet you and schedule an audition.

A/V Tech Team

If you love messing with computers and sound boards, have fun with graphic design and are generally talented with tech, we’d love your help on the tech team!

AT THE 505

SMALL GROUPS

At the 505, we believe that small groups are one of the best ways to experience community, accountability, and growth in faith. As we share our stories, dig into Scripture, pray and do life together, we find that we’re more and more empowered to love God, love others and follow Jesus - individually and together.
Groups meet on different days and times throughout the week and often change seasonally. What to know what small groups are running now?

505 KIDS

At the 505, we think kids are awesome! And we want to do everything we can to help them love Jesus more and more.

505 worship gatherings start with everyone all together in the Sanctuary. Children ages 6 weeks through 3rd grade are released after the opening set to participate in age-appropriate programming.

NURSERY

Trained, loving nursery staff provide a safe, secure environment for children ages 6 weeks-5 years. Allergy-safe snacks are provided, so please alert the staff if your child has special dietary needs.

SUNDAY SCHOOL

Kids age 2 through 3rd grade are invited to join with some awesome, enthusiastic leaders to learn more about their faith. Our curriculum, Grow, Proclaim, Serve! incorporates Bible stories, activities, crafts, media, and games into a full faith experience for children, helping them develop the skills to unlock the Bible message and grow their faith by leaps and bounds.

MEMBERSHIP

Becoming a member of Paoli Presbyterian Church through the 505 is a step you can choose to take on your journey of faith. To become a member means that you are making the public decision to commit (or recommit) your life to Jesus Christ and serve Him through the context of this faith community. If you’ve never been baptized, this would be a time you could do that as well.

Matt Mayer

Education Savings Specialist, Vanguard

"I started coming to the 505 because I wanted a service where the atmosphere allowed me to not just learn more about my savior, but experience Him. I like the music and the message, and the fact that I get to meet new people every week. It’s been a godsend."

Lots of people your age don’t go to church? Why do you think that is and how do you think we can best reach this generation?

"I think people find church to be irrelevant and dated, like Shakespeare (who is still really awesome, and totally relevant). I think the church, as a whole, is filled with an older population, many of whom aren’t concerned with those who aren’t there. We can reach people by making an effort to be younger, utilize the technology of the day, and relate to common culture, even if we fail and look foolish."

Janice Reigel

Preschool Teacher

"Heather Norcini invited me to come one summer and I’ve been coming back since then. I like the message 505 brings and the people here."

Lots of people your age don’t go to church. Why do you think that is and how do you think we can best reach this generation?

"I think a lot of people my age don’t go to church because they don’t feel connected. I think we can best reach this generation by being ourselves and welcoming to all. As soon as they walk through the door, saying 'hello' and having a conversation is key."

Jeff Piscitello

Personal Chef/Professional Musician/Export Operator for an International Chemical Tank Company

"I love making music and it’s a really great relaxed vibe at The 505."

Lots of people your age don’t go to church? Why do you think that is and how do you think we can best reach this generation?

"This is a tough one…I think the fast pace of society has streamlined what is important to people…and with everyone being so hectic the 'easiest' part of life to neglect without tangible consequence is going to church.  I think that creating discussions that involve real life situations in our current time would help people to connect and feel like part of the discussion and able to relate."

Sometimes the best way to get the flavor of a new community is to hear from the real people...
