"GOOD WORKS" HOME REPAIRS
With our partners at Good Works, we will do home repairs for a Phoenixville area family. Volunteers should report to the job site (yet to be determined).
Time: 10:00am-12:00pm (12:00pm-3:00pm, optional)
DIAPERS AND BABY NEEDS
KidsChurch will lead us in collecting diapers, wipes and other infant needs for the Mother-Baby Program at CityTeam in Chester. You can drop off donations at Paoli Pres. on Palm Sunday (March 24) or Easter (March 31). The children will pack the items on the Day of Service.
Everybody could use a little cheering up, right? Volunteers will gather at Paoli Pres. to write cards for people on each church's prayer list, plus mission partners and others. (Teachers? Shut-ins?)
Location: Churchill Hall
Team leader: Linda Clay, email@example.com, 610-436-5326
HELPING OUR NEIGHBORS
Some of our neighbors, because of age or disability, could use some help maintaining their properties, especially after the winter. We will send teams to two homes in the area where we can do lawn cleanup, debris removal and whatever may be required.
"CARING FOR FRIENDS" SNACK BAGS
We will gather at Paoli Methodist, on the corner of S. Valley Road and Devon Road, to assemble snack bags for homebound seniors, people living on the streets or in shelters, and children and families in need.
"HOPE CAFE" MEAL
CityTeam-Chester serves meals every day of the week in one of America's hardest-hit cities. Two Saturdays each month, it offers Hope Cafe – a restaurant-style meal with menus and table service. We will act as hosts and hostesses, servers, kitchen help and clean-up workers.
Number of volunteers: 14 to 20
Time: 3:30pm-6:30pm. Carpooling from Paoli Pres. at 2:30pm
Location: CityTeam, 634 Sproul St., Chester
Team leader: Glenn Gorman, firstname.lastname@example.org, 484-318-1247
Paoli Pres. is teaming up with Paoli United Methodist for a joint Day of Service on Saturday, April 13, during which we will do projects across the community. Sign-up info will follow. In the meantime, please consider these six volunteer opportunities for yourself and your family. Most projects are from 10:00am-12:00pm.
Belize Mission Trip
The church will sponsor a mission trip to Belize, June 22-29. Save the date if you might be interested. The trip is open to youth, young families, and adults. Details to come.
MLK Day of Service
MLK Serve Day at Cornerstone Christian Academy. This past Saturday we cleaned, painted, and did other tasks to help the school in Southwest Philadelphia.
Mission Potluck Dinner
Good fellowship, good food, good message -- it was all good at our Mission Potluck Dinner on Saturday night. (Photo 1)
We were grateful to have Richona McKnight, new executive director of CityTeam, as our speaker. We were her first church audience since her official appointment last week. Thanks also to Kwinn Tucker, outgoing ED. (photo 2)
We also welcomed good friends from Egypt. From left in photo -- Paoli members Nawal and Amir Metry, Rev. Maged and Hadeel Karam, and Manal and Dr. Atef Gendy. Pastor Maged is leader of the Kolali Church in Cairo. Dr. Gendy is former president of the Protestant seminary in Cairo. (photo 3
BLESSINGS FOR BELIZE
Over the years, we have sent multiple shipping containers (semi-truck sized) filled with furniture, school supplies, books, toys, and so much more to our partners in Belize. To get updates on the next container project, see above or contact Tom Infield.
MINISTRIES IN EGYPT
Kolali Evangelical Church in Cairo, Egypt has been our mission partner for over 20 years. Aside from church worship services, they also provide much needed medical and dental care to the public. We are privileged to support their work.
We continue to support several missionaries around the globe, from right here in Pennsylvania to Europe and the middle east. Please pray for them and their families as some are in dangerous situations and cannot be mentioned by name.
