 Serve Day 2023

Paoli United Methodist Church and Paoli Presbyterian Church will jointly sponsor SERVE DAY 2023 on March 25. Together, in the name of Jesus, we will serve individuals and organizations in Paoli and Malvern, and in the city of Chester.

Here are the projects and sites:

* Royer Greaves School for Blind, 118 S. Valley Road, Paoli: We will clear debris and help get the property ready for spring. Volunteers (any number) are needed onsite from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Bring rakes, gardening tools, and a good pair of gloves. Team leader: Maureen Ertle

* Baker Industries, 184 Pennsylvania Ave., Malvern: Baker Industries provides employment for hard-to-place individuals, including persons with intellectual disabilities. Volunteers (any number) will do light maintenance and cleaning from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Please report to the site. Donuts and coffee will be provided. Team leader: Doug Purdy

* Greetings cards for people in need of prayer: We will send hand-written cards to people on the prayer lists of both churches, plus mission partners and others who could use a word of encouragement. Location: Churchill Hall at Paoli Presbyterian, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Any number of volunteers. Team leader: Linda Clay

* Hope Cafe at Cityteam, Chester: Cityteam serves food in the Chester community every day, but Saturdays are special. Cityteam then provides a restaurant-style meal to the community with table-service and menus. We need 16 volunteers to plate food, do table service, and clean up. The time is 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. We will offer carpooling from the parking lot at Paoli Pres. at 2:30 p.m. Team leader: Glenn Gorman. To sign up for this, go to the Cityteam Hope Cafe sign-up online:

There will be t-shirts provided!

Sign-up sheets in the narthex in addition to online registration.

If you have any questions contact:

Tom Infield at 610-304-7280 or Gail Infield at 610-761-4177

Over the years, we have sent multiple shipping containers (semi-truck sized) filled with furniture, school supplies, books, toys, and so much more to our partners in Belize. To get updates on the next container project, contact Sheelagh Straub.

Kolali Evangelical Church in Cairo, Egypt has been our mission partner for over 20 years. Aside from church worship services, they also provide much needed medical and dental care to the public. We are privileged to support their work.

We continue to support several missionaries around the globe, from right here in Pennsylvania to Europe and the middle east. Please pray for them and their families as some are in dangerous situations and cannot be mentioned by name.
