Summer Preacher Bios

​​While our pastor Jonathan Mikesell enjoys a well-deserved sabbatical leave this summer, these folks have generously agreed to fill our pulpit.

Rev. Jane Filkin, MDiv.

Jane Filkin has served in pastoral ministry for the past twenty years. She now serves as the Director of Leadership Development and Spiritual Formation for The Campolo Center for Ministry at Eastern University and Palmer Theological Seminary & College.

Rev. Dr. William D. Hess II, BA

Bill Hess is Pastor Emeritus at First Presbyterian Church, West Chester, where he was lead pastor for 26 years. In addition to roles in several other Presbyterian congregations during his career, Bill has served during the summer at Christ Union Chapel,  an interdenominational ministry on Culver Lake in Branchville, NJ. Bill just returned from a mission trip to Mthatha, South Africa.

Nancy Hicks, ThM.

Nancy Hicks is a global speaker and author of Meant to Live: Living in Light of the Good News. After 10+ years as a QVC spokesperson, Nancy now inspires women to navigate the contradictory and confusing voices in the Church today by equipping them to be grounded in their faith, even when the Church has let them down.

Rev. Donald D. Lincoln, MDiv. B. Mus. Ed.

Don Lincoln is a retired PC(USA) pastor whose 40+ year career included 22 years as lead pastor at Westminster Presbyterian Church in West Chester, PA. Don has been active in Donegal Presbytery and has served in several roles in the national church, including General Assembly staff for over thirty years. Don has been a member of several national PC(USA) boards, and is currently on the Board of Trustees of Princeton Theological Seminary.

Madelyn Ridgeway, BA Youth Min.

Maddie Ridgeway is the Director of Student & Young Adult Ministries at Paoli Presbyterian Church. She has served at Paoli Pres for the last 5 years. She also teaches dance and is actively pursuing her master’s degree.

Rev. Dr. Robert S. Wafula, PhD ThM BD

Robert Wafula served as pastor at Reformed Church in Bungoma Parish, Kenya; Germantown Hope Community Church in Germantown, PA; and  African Christian Ministry in Plymouth Meeting, PA. He has also taught biblical studies at Wingate University (Wingate, NC), Luther College (Decorah, IA), and St. Joseph’s University (Philadelphia, PA). PPC has been fortunate to have Robert and his wonderful family as members since 2013.
